AQUATICS
Aquatics Director: Alli Gravelle
LIFEGUARDS/SWIM INSTRUCTORS
Responsible for the safe operation of the swimming pool. Delivers swim lessons to participants.
Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.

American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard certification.

American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institution certification in: Professional Rescuer or Lifeguard CPR/AED, First Aide, Oxygen Administration.
Starting Salary Range: 7.25 – 7.83; 10 – 25 hours per week
Flexible scheduling: Early morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, with weekend availability preferred.
WELLNESS
Associate Executive Director: Allison Lawson
STRENGTH INSTRUCTORS
Instructs, encourages, and supervises members in the Wellness Center.
Qualifications:
-
High school graduate or equivalent with experience in the areas of fitness or strength training.
- Must have a personal interest in strength training and be willing to study and apply YMCA training principles and techniques.
- Able to build relationships and communicate effectively with members.

American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Institute of Health & Safety Adult, Infant, Child CPR/AED.
- YMCA Fitness Testing and Assessment training must be completed within three months of employment.
- YMCA Principles of Healthy Lifestyles and YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning certification is required within six months of employment.
Starting Salary Range: 7.25 – 7.83
20 – 25 hours per week (flexible schedules are available and weekends may be required):
Morning/Early Afternoons 5:30 am – 1:30 pm
Afternoons/Early Evenings: 12:30 pm – 7:15 pm
Evenings: 3:00 pm – 10:45 pm
GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTORS
Instructs group exercise classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that Promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Includes: Cardio Kickboxing,
Interval Training,
Step Aerobics,
Cycling (Spin).
Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to effectively lead group exercise classes
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good physical condition and mental alertness.
- American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Institute of Health & Safety Adult, Infant, Child CPR/AED.

YMCA Healthy Lifestyles Principles and Foundations of YMCA Group Exercise must be successfully completed within 6 months of employment.

Certification in area of expertise within six months of employment.
Starting Salary Range: 7.83 – 10.00; 4 – 15 hours per week
Classes scheduled throughout the day starting at 5:45 am and ending at 7:30 pm
GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTORS – ADVANCED
Instructs advanced group exercise classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Includes: Yoga (Power/Dao), Meditation, Tai Chi, Punk Rope, Hoopnotica, Pilates, Silver Sneakers (all formats).
Qualifications:
- Current CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety & Health Institute.

National certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA or NASM) in group fitness instruction, or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise Instruction, or a Bachelor’s Degree in an exercise science related field.

YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 6 months of employment.

Have and maintain certification in the specific area of expertise. (SilverSneakers, Yoga, Zumba, Pilates, etc.

At least one year of experience teaching group wellness/exercise classes.

YOUTH SPORTS/FAMILIES/TEENS

Instructs and coaches a youth sports team. Provides supervision and direction for participants in youth development activities, which includes the adventure room. Supervises birthday party rentals.
Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Knowledge and experience in the appropriate sports skills.

Ability to effectively lead and supervise youth groups.

DANCE INSTRUCTOR
Instructs and coaches participants in dance classes.
Qualifications:

- Prior dance experience is required and at least one year of teaching dance is preferred.

Responsible for the leadership and operation of the Teen Leaders program.
Qualifications:

Preschool Director: Maria Solomonidis
PRESCHOOL INSTRUCTORS
Responsible to plan and implement activities for preschool specialty programs such as Messy Play, Mommy and Me, and Pretty Pretty Princess.
Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age.

A college Degree in Early Childhood or related area or equivalent experience.

Two years of experience working with preschool children and a background in youth recreation is preferred.

The ability to effectively communicate with preschoolers as well as parents.

PRESCHOOL AIDE
FOR 2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR. INTERVIEWING BEGINS THIS SPRING.
Facilitates lesson plans for the traditional preschool education program or Universal Pre-K (UPK) program. Assists and supports the Preschool Coordinator or Preschool Teacher with administrative tasks.

Implements the program design for the traditional preschool education program or UPK program and ensures that YMCA program standards are met.

Assists and supports the Preschool Coordinator or Preschool Teacher with administrative tasks, i.e. attendance, surveys, etc.
- Projects a positive image, communicates effectively and develops positive relationships with participants, parents, co-workers and the community.

Provides safe program environment. Ensures the safety of all children.
Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age.

Prior experience working with preschool age children is preferred.

The ability to effectively communicate with preschoolers as well as parents.
