Child Care Activities Offered at the YMCA
Children, sing, dance, and create as they explore the world of music and movement. With a variety of instruments, the children will learn how to create and appreciate music. Dancing to a wide variety of sounds gets the class moving and grooving to many different beats.
Bookworms is a literacy-based program emphasizing enthusiasm for children?s books. Each week is themed after a book appropriate for the 24 month ? 5 year old age range and includes theme related activities.

The Playgroup is a time for parents and children to have fun together in a program designed to enrich and enhance socialization through hands on activities. Each class is planned around a daily theme with supporting activities promoting language development, coordination, crafts, and gym time.
Little Me is offered to children 2-3 years old as a playgroup introduction to preschool. Playgroup children spend class time making friends and playing with others their own age. During the class they also have the opportunity to share a snack, listen to a story, make a craft project and have playtime in the gym.
Your little ones will enjoy getting messy with finger paints, pudding, edible playdough, and watercolors - and YOU don't have to worry about the furniture. Old clothes/art smock encouraged! Parent participation optional.
Do you have a preschooler who is keeping you hopping? Let us channel that energy into a positive, healthy lifestyle with our Kids In Motion Class! Activity stations including exercise, music, dancing, and games are all part of an integrated program designed to develop your child in spirit, mind, and body.
Kids love food. Even more, they love to help make it. This class features simple and healthy recipes that can be prepared easily by children ages 2-5. In addition, the kids learn valuable skills including healthy food habits, mathematics, following directions, and cooperation, plus they get to eat the yummy treats they prepare!

Superheroes in Training, Messy Play, Kids in Motion & Kinderclay are just a few of the classes we?ll touch on this session!
There is no better way to learn than through hands-on discovery! This class allows your child to inquire and explore the world around him/her while developing socialization skills, learning tools for kindergarten, and having fun!
