MEMBER GET A MEMBER BENEFIT
If you have any friends or family that are looking for a fun and safe place to kick-off their New Year’s Resolution refer them to the Y.  For every member that you recommend who joins you will receive a $30.00 gift certificate for referring them to us.  Gift certificates are good for membership dues, programs and classes.  Stop by the front desk for more information.  Also don’t forget that during the whole month of January the join fee is being waved, that means up to a $100.00 savings on a family membership!

SWIM LESSONS
Preschool, youth, and adult swim lessons began a new session on January 2.  Register for lessons for your children or yourself. Stop in to the branch, call 674-9622, go online or email Randy for more information or to register!

BASKETBALL LEAGUE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Looking to make a difference in your community? Then why not volunteer at the Southtowns Family YMCA?  The Y is currently recruiting volunteer coaches for our co-ed youth basketball leagues.  Coaches are needed one evening per week for practice and on Saturday afternoons for games.
 

CAMP EARLY BIRD
REGISTRATION HAS BEGUN
Early Bird registration began January 2 and runs until February 29.  A $10.00 deposit per week, per camper secures your child’s spot at your favorite YMCA Day Camp.  Children may also earn their way to camp during our annual candy sale.  Our candy sale runs from now until July 2.  For each bar you sell for a $1.00, you will get a .50 credit towards the camper’s session fees.  For more information or to pick up your candy please stop by the front desk.

REGISTRATION UNDERWAY FOR CO-ED YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Limited registration is still open for the Southtowns YMCAs Co-ed Youth Basketball League for children in grades first through sixth.  Children who participate in the Southtowns YMCAs basketball league will improve basketball skills while learning good sportsmanship, improving their physical fitness, and character development.  Each player will receive a team jersey, shorts, a Y basketball, and end of season awards. A 45-minute practice is held once a week with a 45-minute game held each Saturday.  The cost for YMCA members is $60 and non members is $80.  The league begins January 7, 2012 - March 24, 2012.  Call the branch at 674-9622, email Chris, or stop by for more information or to register.
