Volunteers are the lifeblood of the YMCA.  At all levels, volunteers contribute valuable resources of knowledge and talents to help our association carry out it’s mission.

There are a number of volunteer opportunities available throughout the year, and several are outlined below:

  • Policy Volunteers:  People who serve on the YMCA’s corporate board of directors or branch boards of management and/or their committees. YMCA committees include finance, properties, program/marketing, financial development, human resources and strategic planning.  Committee members are not required to be board members.
  • Program Volunteers:  Those who work directly with customers to deliver YMCA programs and services.  Opportunities include youth sports coaches, fitness instructors, aquatics instructors, lifeguards (requires current certifications), pre-school and school age child care assistants, and day camp counselors.
  • Fundraising Volunteers:  Those who provide the leadership and legwork that ensure successful fundraising campaigns and special events.
  • Support Volunteers:  The people who help out in the office or in YMCA facilities, assisting branch staff in day to day operations.

Whether your talents and interests are primarily sports and program-oriented, finance or office-oriented, or fundraising and event-oriented, the YMCA has a job waiting for you!
