Wellness Center
All full-facility YMCA Buffalo Niagara branches have a Wellness Center that includes cardiorespiratory equipment, strength training equipment, and free weights.  All centers also hold an orientation for all new members. This free program teaches instruction on correct use of strength training and cardiorespiratory equipment.  The emphasis is on correct technique to maximize benefits and minimize risk.

One-on-One Fitness Test and Assessments
The One-on-One Fitness Test and Assessment is FREE to all members and is included in all personal training packages.

The One-on-One Fitness Test and Assessment provides the trainer/strength instructor the necessary test results to implement a safe, effective, and appropriate personalized program.

Fitness Assessment components include:
•  PAR-Q (preliminary health history)
•  Age, height, weight
•  Resting heart rate and blood pressure
Body composition (skin folds, waist-hip and/or girth measurements)
Cardiorespiratory fitness (3-minute step test)
•  Flexibility (sit and reach test)

Personal Training
YMCA personal training programs are tailored to meet the needs of people of various ages and abilities. Personal training stresses total fitness, with an emphasis on cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, muscular strength, and endurance. A nationally certified personal trainer guides participants through a structured workout program.

12-Week Personal Fitness ProgramStay Motivated - Set Personal Goals - Achieve a Better You
Exclusively for members, the 12-week personal fitness program is designed to help new or returning exercisers. This structured program includesyour own “fit coach.” You and your coach will set personal goals and design strategies to achievethose goals. Exercise is added in small increments to enhance success.
