GET MOVING THIS SUMMER WITH 2014 FITNESS IN THE PARKS

YMCA Buffalo Niagara is pleased to team up once again with Independent Health to offer Fitness in the Parks! This FREE community exercise program allows you to still enjoy the great Buffalo weather without having to skip your workout!

Offered June 22 - August 30, Fitness in the Parks will take place at convenient locations throughout Western New York.

Classes are taught by certified YMCA instructors and refreshments are provided by Tops Friendly Markets. No registration is required.

LOCATIONS
ArtPark – South 4th street entrance; parking lot D near the picnic shelter
Bassett Park - Corner of Youngs and West Klein; Class takes place by the bandstand
Canalside - On the great lawn in front of Clinton's Dish.
Cheektowaga Town Park - Between shelter 12 & 13; Parking behind library
Chestnut Ridge - By the casino
Delaware Park– Corner of Amherst and Colvin; Class takes place by the playground.
Ellicott-Creek Park - By the outdoor fitness center
Goehle Marina – “Widewaters Marina” Close to Cold Springs Rd. North/Lake Ave. South
Main Street Park Clarence– Staff will direct you to site
Roosevelt Park – Directly behind Community Charter School; closest parking lot located near Roosevelt/Suffolk

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
Boot Camp - No excuses!  Enjoy a challenging and fun, yet doable workout!  Focus on speed, endurance, agility, strength, power moves, and cardiovascular training.
Cardio Dance - Simple yet challenging choreography set to music.  Enhances cardiovascular endurance, muscle tone, flexibility, and coordination.  All fitness levels welcome.
NEW! Cardio Kickboxing - A great way to relieve stress and tension, this aerobic based class combines martial arts, boxing, aerobic exercises, and strengthening exercises to increase flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination.  Learn the proper way to kick and punch in a safe, non-contact environment.
Pilates - Pilates is a method of body conditioning named after Joseph Pilates.  The class would strengthen the body’s core muscles including the abdominals and lower back.  It will tone the body and increase flexibility.
Yoga - Yoga provides gentle effective postures that promote stretching, strengthening, and relaxation.  The benefits of yoga include increased blood circulation, improved mental awareness, strengthened muscles and reduced stress.
Yoga Kids - Children will learn gentle effective postures that promote stretching, strengthening, and relaxation. This class promotes concentration, self confidence, and teaches qualities like compassion and self awareness.   The entire family is welcome and is encouraged to participate.
Zumba® - Are you ready to party yourself into shape? Forget the workout, just lose yourself in the music and find yourself in shape at the original dance-fitness party. Zumba® classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before you know it, you'll be getting fit and your energy levels will be soaring! It's easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating.
