GET MOVING THIS SUMMER WITH 2013 FITNESS IN THE PARKS

YMCA Buffalo Niagara is pleased to team up once again with Independent Health to offer
Fitness in the Parks!
This FREE community exercise program allows you to still enjoy the great Buffalo weather without having to skip your workout!

Offered June 2 - August 31, Fitness in the Parks will take place at eight convenient locations throughout Western New York: 
- NEW LOCATION! Main Street Park (Clarence)
- NEW LOCATION! Artpark (Lewiston)
- Bassett Park (Amherst)
- Canalside (Buffalo)
- Delaware Park (North Buffalo)
- Cheektowaga Town Park (Cheektowaga)
- Chestnut Ridge Park (Orchard Park)
- Ellicott Creek Park (Tonawanda)

Classes are taught by certified YMCA instructors and refreshments are provided by Tops Friendly Markets. No registration is required.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
Yoga - Yoga provides gentle effective postures that promote stretching, strengthening, and relaxation.  The benefits of yoga include increased blood circulation, improved mental awareness, strengthened muscles and reduced stress.
Boot Camp - No excuses!  Enjoy a challenging and fun, yet doable workout!  Focus on speed, endurance, agility, strength, power moves, and cardiovascular training.
Cardio Dance - Simple yet challenging choreography set to music.  Enhances cardiovascular endurance, muscle tone, flexibility, and coordination.  All fitness levels welcome.
Tai Chi - Gentle movements of the limbs, as well as static postures with mental images and a focus on breathing.
Pilates - Pilates is a method of body conditioning named after Joseph Pilates.  The class would strengthen the body’s core muscles including the abdominals and lower back.  It will tone the body and increase flexibility.
NEW - Family Recess - Get ready to have some fun! YMCA youth sports coaches will lead families through a variety of fun activities and field games such as 3 legged relays, tag, kickball, and hula hoop contests.  Who knew getting active could be so much fun? 
NEW - Walks Along the Waterfront - Walking is one of the easiest ways to be physically active.  Take advantage of your lunch break and join YMCA instructors as they lead you through this wellness program.  Each class will begin with a brief talk on a topic related to healthy living followed by a walk and some stretching.  Please wear comfortable shoes with proper support and cushioning.  Class will meet on the boardwalk near the information tent.
Zumba® - When participants see a Zumba class in action, they can’t wait to give it a try.  Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high energy Latin and international beats.
