YMCA Preschool Education
Certified teachers and teacher aides help children prepare for kindergarten. The program builds self-esteem, communication skills, and group interaction. Children explore colors, numbers, letters, shapes, and sounds. Activities include storytelling, art, music, cooking, creative movement, guest speakers, field trips, and special events. Programs for ages 2 - 5 are available.
The Lakeshore School District/Southtowns Family YMCA and Westminster Community Charter School/Delaware YMCA offers universal preschool. This traditional classroom format is designed to introduce academics and enhance socialization, physical activity, communication, and creative thinking.
This program is offered for free for those in the corresponding school district and is delivered by a NYS certified teacher, ensuring a child’s success in school. Our program offerings help develop confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, and group interaction. The program helps four and five year olds prepare for kindergarten.
