Camp Weona Programs

No camper is one size fits all — so we offer a range of different kinds of camp experiences to ensure that everyone can have their summer to remember.

First Experience Camp

Ages 7-11
For the younger or first-time camper who wants a taste of what camp is like – this is the session for you! The YMCA believes in progressive and age-appropriate camping and this is a great way to see what it is all about. Children enjoy a five-day session of traditional activities like swimming, canoeing, arts & crafts, archery, campfires, and horseback riding!
Five-Day Sessions, Sunday to Thursday
Dates: June 25-29, July 2-6, July 9-13, July 16-20, July 23-27, July 30-Aug 3, Aug 6-10

Traditional Camp

Ages 7-14
There is nothing like it anywhere else in Western New York! Enjoy six days of both traditional camp programs as well as high-adventure activities. Choose to participate in afternoon and early evening skill programs, and make new friends and memories that last a lifetime.
One-Week Sessions, Sunday to Saturday
Dates: June 25-July 1, July 2-8, July 9-15, July 16-22, July 23-29, July 30-Aug 5, Aug 6-12, Aug 13-19

Weekend Adventure Camp

Ages 7-14
Free (when staying two or more consecutive weeks)
Stretch your one-week session into an extended stay with our weekend adventure camp program. It’s perfect for our seasoned campers who want to stay for more than one week. Options include camping out under the starsl, cooking over an open fire, and challenging high and low ropes courses.
Weekend Sessions, Friday to Sunday
Dates: June 30-July 2, July 7-9, July 14-16, July 21-23, July 28-30

Horse Camp

Ages 10-15
Does your camper love horses? With qualified staff at the reins, your child is able to expand their horsemanship skills while sharing this fulfilling experience with friends. Horse Camp combines the best of our traditional resident overnight camp with an extended horse activity period each day. Each horse period includes a riding lesson, in-barn lesson, barn chores, and other activities. Our campers ride every day, weather permitting. At the end of each week, all horse campers go on a trail ride. Sessions are grouped by skill level, allowing our highly trained staff to provide a personalized experience and tailored instruction to each child. Maximum enrollment per session is 12.

Within the available resources of the organization, YMCA Buffalo Niagara will provide services to any youth, senior, adult, or family who desires to participate and understands the benefits of the YMCA.
