A Message from Our Leadership
At YMCA Buffalo Niagara, we believe all people, no matter who they are, deserve an opportunity to reach their full potential. It is our mission to provide meaningful programs and experiences that empower youth to reach their full potential, improve individual and community well-being, and offer support and inspire action throughout Western New York.
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive organization that doesn’t turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. In 2019, YMCA Buffalo Niagara served over 110,000 people and provided $1.4 million in financial assistance to more than 3,100 families in our region.
As we look ahead, we are confident that our impact and reach will continue to grow in the communities we serve. Specifically, our goals are to:
- Shrink the academic achievement gap
- Combat hunger and food insecurity
- Help seniors feel engaged and part of a community
- Provide safe, affordable childcare and summer camp options to working parents
- Help cancer survivors regain their physical and mental strength
This Impact Report showcases real stories of how we are staying true to our mission to help all people – no matter their circumstances – achieve health, gain confidence, make connections, and feel secure at every stage of life. As we follow the path outlined in our strategic plan, we are excited for what’s ahead as the Y creates new ways to make a positive impact in the lives of children, families, and individuals across Western New York.
We are grateful for our many dedicated volunteers and generous donors and partners who believe in our ability to transform lives. Together, we continue to make a difference in our community.
