Adult Sports Programs
Fun and games aren’t just for kids. Our adult sports programs are designed to provide participants with a positive experience, and we work hard to establish a non-competitive environment where skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship are stressed. To keep you fit and having fun, the Y offers a variety of adult sports programs depending on season and branch location, including:
Adult Sports Programs Offered at the YMCA
Recreational Adult Soccer is a non-competitive co-ed league. Games will consist of two 25-minute halves with a five-minute half time. Each team will consist of four players and one goalie. Each team must have a minimum of one female on the field at all times.
Students in stage 4 develop stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and learn the breaststroke kick and butterfly kick. Water safety is reinforced through treading water and elementary backstroke.
In stage 3, students learn how to swim to safety from a longer distance than in previous stages in the event of falling into a body of water. This stage also introduces rhythmic breathing and integrated arm and leg action.
