YMCA Buffalo Niagara serves as a leading voice on health and well-being initiatives here in Western New York. Having fostered programs like the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP), LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA, and so many others, the Y is able to identify the needs and concerns of people throughout our community. The Y is able to then address these key areas of concern through programs that help individuals lead healthier, more active lives. Forging unique collaborations with health insurance providers such as Independent Health, BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York and Univera has also helped us to expand the number of Western New Yorkers we are able to positively impact.

Wellness Programs Offered at the YMCA
This class uses gentle, no impact, exercises to increase flexibility, improve posture and range of motion while decreasing pain and stiffness in joints. The pool is equipped to assist those needing assistance entering and exiting the water.
Relieve stress and build strength by incorporating the mind, body, and spirit into your workout. This hatha-based class, appropriate for all levels of students, helps improve flexibility, muscular strength, posture and alignment through yoga poses, breathing and relaxation.
Gentle movements of the limbs, as well as static postures with mental images and a focus on breathing
A class that includes strength training and low impact cardiovascular exercise.
Class will be a combination of strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and core and stability movements.
Alternating between intense bursts of activity and fixed periods of less intense activity with weights or rest, this class will keep your workouts fun, and challenging!
A great way to relieve stress and tension, this aerobic based class combines martial arts, boxing, aerobic exercises, and strengthening exercises to increase flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination. Learn the proper way to kick and punch in a safe, non-contact environment.
Zumba® classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy, latin and international beats.
Class includes low/high intensity cardiovascular work and exercises that enhance muscle tone and flexibility. Safety and proper form are emphasized in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Non-swimmers are welcome.
